Rebecca & Simon
When Megan and Simon booked with us we knew that their day was going to be extra special in terms of creativity due to Megan being an art teacher. And we certainly weren’t disappointed, the decor for the ceremony and the Marquee was just spectacular and the photos taken of the day by Signature Photography captured all the details perfectly. We particularly loved that the couple laid their own carpets along the aisle as it looked so different.
The ceremony was absolutely beautiful and made even more personal by the fact that the 5 piece band were all friends of the couple. The floral arrangements by Blooming Events NI were wonderfully dramatic and eye catching and matched perfectly with the Bridesmaids’ burnt orange dresses and the Bride’s floral crown. The most amazing thing about the florals from this company is that they are all faux! They are so life-like you would never know.
The couple held their drinks reception in The Strawberry Garden where they also cut and served their wedding cake with tea and coffee as well as delicious donuts from Taboo. *Top tip* serving your wedding cake during your drinks reception is a great way to give your guests something to eat to tide them over to dinner if you aren’t planning canapés or ice cream. The cake was made by Rhiannon Cakes and Bakes and artfully adorned in flowers by the Florist.
The evening reception was held in our elegant, glass fronted and light filled Marquee. The couple had lots of lovely touches in their decor such as a s’mores table and DIY signage. They had their first dance around the lit fire pit with all their guests leading them there through a sparkler lit tunnel. A magical end to a wonderful day.

What made you fall in love with Ballyscullion Park?
We wanted a wedding that was quite unique with lots of outdoor space for our bohemian styled, summer wedding. We had viewed only one other wedding venue when we came across photos of the Palace Ruins within Ballyscullion Park grounds. I, as a bride, had dreamed of a forest wedding for years so this beautiful spot blew me away. When we visited shortly after, we fell in love with the entire venue. The forest, gardens and marquee were stunning. We booked our day shortly after.
What was your favourite part of the day?
Our favourite part of the day was saying our vows under the trees at the palace ruins. This magical setting felt like something out of a fairy tale. We also enjoyed exploring the gardens outside the marqee. Our photographer found so many beautiful spots to take our wedding photos.
What would be your number one piece of advice / tip that you would give to couples getting married at Ballyscullion Park?
Have a vision and stick to it without trying to please others and alter your day. Stay organised and enjoy the process. We thoroughly enjoyed the planning of our wedding. We started preparing early and ticked everything off gradually so we never felt overwhelmed or stressed, which seemed to be what was expected. Ballyscullion Park staff helped make our wedding day smooth and stress free. Communicate any queries or worries to them. They are so friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this venue.
