Emma and Callum
This month’s blog features Emma and Callum’s Strawberry Garden drinks reception and marquee wedding reception.
It was a slightly wet start to the afternoon so the drinks reception was held in the beautiful canopy covered Strawberry Garden with The Coves keeping everyone entertained while they sipped on delicious Pimms cocktails. Later when the weather cleared, guests enjoyed meandering around the 3-acre Walled Garden and playing with all the garden games that the couple provided. Garden games are a brilliant way to keep your family and friends entertained in the lead up to dinner later in the evening.
The Marquee looked truly stunning as the florist Millson and Berry had suspended floral arrangements from the ceiling creating a really dramatic effect.
Instead of an evening supper, Emma and Callum opted to have the delicious pizza van company Garlic and Thyme outside the Marquee serving up some seriously good slices of pizza. Having a different food vendor to feed your guests later in the evening is always a treat. As well as pizza vans we have had other food trucks supplying waffles, burritos and even donuts!
Drums N’ Roses, a fantastic drums and pipe band from Scotland made a surprise appearance during the evening reception much to the delight of all the guests.

What made you fall in love with Ballyscullion Park?
We attended a wedding previously at Ballyscullion and remember the first time we stepped out of the Coach House and witnessed the beauty and vastness of the walled garden, simply breath taking.
When we met Rosalind for our initial tour, we quickly realised how organised and well managed Ballyscullion was, and we knew we could hand over our day completely to them and just enjoy it all!
What was your favourite part of your day at Ballyscullion Park?
From the moment we stepped out of our wedding cars and were greeted by Rosalind, the Ballyscullion team, and two glasses of champagne, we loved every minute of our day! Ballyscullion was faultless, which makes this question very difficult to answer.
We loved the gardens, to allow our guests to roam in the afternoon. We enjoyed indulging in canapés, Pimm’s and listening to the band in the strawberry garden (which can hold a lot of guests for a rainy drinks reception!).
Our favourite memory from the evening was looking across the fairy lit marquee with a packed dance floor inside and people outside relaxing on the outdoor seating and chatting around the fire pit.
What would be your number one piece of advice / tip that you would give to couples getting married at Ballyscullion Park?
One piece of advice we would give to couples getting married at Ballyscullion Park is to make the space your own. We had garden games for the guests during the day, and as we both loved pizza, we made the decision for our evening reception to book a pizza trailer (Garlic & Thyme). Ballyscullion Park offers you the flexibility of tailoring your day exactly to your own tastes.
A top tip would be to enjoy every step of the process with the team at Ballyscullion, Rosalind, Cathy, Arbutus and Garry (the bar manager) and put your full trust in them!
Ballyscullion was the most perfect venue, that went above and beyond for us on our wedding day and we can’t speak highly enough of the incredible place that it is.
