"We were so thrilled to have raised £9,750 for the charity"
On February 14th 2022 we held our second annual Ballyscullion Park Valentine’s Charity Ball. At our last ball in February 2020, we raised an incredible £8,000 for Marie Curie Cancer care, a cause close to many people’s hearts.
Ballyscullion 2022 Valentine's Charity Ball
For this year’s Ballyscullion Park Valentine’s Charity Ball, we decided to fundraise for Action for Children Northern Ireland. They are an incredible charity who offers essential support to vulnerable children and young adults, helping them to have a happy childhood and the foundations to thrive. They are also one of the few charities that support their children throughout their education and right up until they are 25 years old.
The past couple of years of lockdowns have been extremely challenging for many children and we were very keen to raise as much vital funds as possible to help provide them with crucial assistance during this time.
On the night of the ball we were delighted to be joined by Cheryl, Regional Fundraising Manager for the charity and Avery, Fostering Manager as well as two of their incredible young Ambassadors Odhran and Anthony. The two young men spoke so movingly and impressively at the event about how the charity has helped them grow in confidence and provided them with opportunities that they never thought they would have access to.
We were so thrilled to have raised £9,750 for the charity through donations on the night and online. We are completely overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity and we know that the money will go a long way towards helping children in need across Northern Ireland.
It’s safe to say that everyone had an absolutely fabulous night with most guests not having attended a black tie event since before the pandemic started, two years prior. People were in the mood for a good time and it was so wonderful to see the effort everyone made and how relaxed all the guests were.

The Marquee

The marquee looked simply stunning having been adorned in fairy lights by Victoria and her team from The Wedding Room NI. She also decorated the room with a fabulous balloon backdrop and with lovely flowers and centrepieces. The extremely talented Bronagh from I Do Stationery kindly made the beautiful table plan and all the stationery for the night.
The guests were kept well entertained throughout the evening by Rodd Hogg the Magician who had them all in complete wonder at the tricks he was performing. He is a brilliantly entertaining addition to any wedding or event and we couldn’t recommend him more.
As guests arrived we had the Master of Ceremonies Jack Adair welcoming them while the wonderful Les Magee set the tone by playing her harp beautifully in the background. Guests sipped on bubbles while having their photos taken by the Ulster Tatler as well as the very talented Denise Leacock who is a regular wedding Photographer at Ballyscullion Park.
The delicious 4-course meal was served by Arbutus Catering after which the guests danced the night away to The Collective Wedding Band who were absolutely brilliant at getting them to their feet and created such a fun atmosphere in the marquee.
The most amazing prizes were donated to our raffle and auction by friends and local businesses. Lucky guests won prizes such as 6 nations tickets, a trip to Tuscany, a luxury throw from Magee, a make Your Own Afternoon Tea from The Bakehouse NI as well as so much more.
