Tia and Michael
This month’s blog features Tia and Michael’s absolutely stunning Strawberry Garden ceremony and marquee wedding reception. The couple’s wedding took part on the most gloriously sunny June day and the Walled Garden was bursting with roses which are at their peak mid to late June. The guest of honour at the wedding was the couple’s super little sausage dog Franky who was the star of the show and an excellent poseur for all the family photos.
Family run, artisan gelato company Brook Avenue were on hand to keep everyone cool with their exquisite ice cream which included delightful flavours such as pistachio, honeycomb and kinder bueno. The delicious cake was provided by Busy Whisky Bakery and was adorned with the beautiful, vibrant faux florals were by Valerie of Quirky Kitten. Valerie added great pops of colou ray adding stems throughout the beech hedge arch in the Strawberry Garden creating a fab backdrop for the couple when saying their vows. She also created stunning floral pillars that framed the entrance into the Strawberry Garden which then framed the cake in the Marquee.

What made you fall in love with Ballyscullion Park?
We secretly knew Ballyscullion would be the venue for us before we even went to our first visit just from seeing the pictures online! We loved how open the venue was with the big gardens where guests could mingle for the drinks reception and a big marquee for at night with plenty of space for dancing. We also always knew we wanted an outdoor ceremony and the Strawberry garden was perfect as it was covered meaning if it rained it wouldn’t be an issue, or in our case if it was very sunny it would give our guests a bit of shade! Also, I can’t not mention how helpful Rosalind and the team at Ballyscullion were from our first visit. They took the time to show us around the venue, answer any questions and we were even welcome to call back multiple times!
What was your favourite part of the day?
The favourite part of our day was our drinks reception out in the garden. Luckily, we got one of the warmest days of the year so the sun was shining down, our guests were all spread out along the gardens enjoying a drink, music and ice cream!
What would be your number one piece of advice / tip that you would give to couples getting married at Ballyscullion Park?
Take a moment just for the two of you and sneak away into the garden for 10 minutes. The day flies by, and Ballyscullion Park is so beautiful that it’s worth pausing to soak it all in together.
