Happy New Year from Ballyscullion Park! 2020 has been a strange and uncertain year for everyone and we are certainly looking forward to a brighter and busier 2021. We can’t wait to reopen our doors in March to our upcoming weddings and our full of hope and optimism for a better year for all.
We started off 2020 with our first ever Valentine’s Ball and are happy to report that it was a huge success! We welcomed back lots of our couples as well as family, friends and local businesses and had a wonderful night while raising £8,655 for Marie Curie. We couldn’t believe the generosity of our guests and look forward to holding our next Ball in 2022.
We finished off the year on a professional high by being one of only three Northern Irish venues to be voted Bridebook’s Best of Britain. This accolade is particularly special to us as it is based on feedback from couples who celebrated their weddings with us this year.
On a personal high, Cathy our Wedding Manager and Rosalind and Richard, Director and Owners of Ballyscullion Park celebrated the arrival of their first grandchildren. Cathy’s grandson arrived in July and Rosalind and Richard’s grandson arrived almost two weeks early, just in time for Christmas. Rosalind’s grandson is now the 5th generation of the Mulholland family to live at Ballyscullion Park, here’s hoping that there are many more to come!

We were also very fortunate to be able to hold 22 weddings here in 2020. Most of which had to tailor their day to the restrictions whether it was reducing their numbers or foregoing live music etc. We were so happy that our couples still had such special days surrounded by their closest family and friends and it really showed what mattered when it came to getting married. As a venue, we took our responsibilities very seriously to ensure all our guests were kept safe, while still being able to enjoy the day. We focused on what could be done, and not on what could not be done, to make each wedding the best day possible. All our couples have shown amazing flexibility and patience, as well as determination, as their plans were repeatedly changed.
On behalf of all the team at Ballyscullion Park, we would like to wish all our couples past and future, and all our followers a very Happy New Year. We so appreciate all the support that we have received over the years but particularly in this difficult year. We would also like to acknowledge all the invaluable support we have received throughout the pandemic from organizations such as Bridebook, Historic Houses, Mid Ulster District Council, TourismNI, Wedding Venue Support Group, WeddingsOnline, Guides for Brides, Hospitality Ulster, and more, which all rose to the challenge with Zoom workshops, safety training, lobbying of Government, and keeping us up to speed with all the rapid changes to the wedding and hospitality industry. Not forgetting some much-needed finanacial support from the Govermnent. Thank you! We also want to thank all the Caterers and Wedding Suppliers who were such a great support this year and went above and beyond to cater to the constant changes our couples faced.
Ballyscullion Park will be open from Monday 4th of January for Socially Distanced or Virtual Viewings depending on current restrictions. Please do not hesitate to get in touch to arrange a viewing with us.
