We were well and truly back into the swing of things with our August weddings at Ballyscullion Park! We were absolutely thrilled to welcome back our Brides and Grooms who were just so relieved to have their weddings go ahead, albeit with slightly fewer numbers and all the necessary safety measures in place.

Our first August wedding party travelled the whole way over from Cornwall having never been to Ireland before or seen the venue in real life! Kate and Ciaran googled dog friendly venues and got in touch with us when Ballyscullion popped up. We love having dogs here as we believe that they are important family members so we were thrilled to welcome them.

A few of our couples were due to get married in their local church but due to restrictions and lack of social distancing, they asked if they could have their ceremony here and we very happily said yes! We are very flexible here and more than happy to host ceremonies, even at short notice. They made the absolute most of the situation by embracing the beauty of the garden and having their ceremony under our lovely Butler’s canopy. Pre-Covid, most of our wedding ceremonies were held in the Strawberry Garden but due to the social distancing restrictions, a canopy was erected.

Even with the all the storms throughout August, the couples were lucky to get beautiful weather for their ceremonies and were able to enjoy the gardens at their best. All wedding photographs were taken outside and there was such a great atmosphere as everyone was just so happy that their special day was able to proceed. Bands and musicians were able to play outside behind screens and with good distance from the guests and Sweetie Carts were allowed as long as the sweets were pre-bagged.

So that is a quick round up of our August weddings at Ballyscullion Park! We are very much still holding weddings and focusing on what our couples can do and not what they can’t do. We aim to provide a wedding that may not be exactly as planned but the best alternative possible.
