This month at Ballyscullion Park we have been slowly welcoming back some of our lovely couples to celebrate their weddings here. It was the first late spring and early summer here in 7 years where we haven’t had a single wedding and we have really missed all of the celebrations.
We have had three quite different celebrations so far. The first wedding held here since March was a very intimate affair as there were only 13 attendees including the Bride and Groom, their guests and the Registrar. It was also our first wedding ceremony to take place under the canopy outside the Marquee which worked really well as an additional outdoor ceremony location in the Walled Garden.

A couple of weeks later we welcomed Ben and Pamela who flew in from Scotland with some of their nearest and dearest. They had a Woodland Wedding, exchanging vows in front of the Palace Ruins surrounded by friends and families adorned in kilts and Sporrans. The ceremony was live streamed to all the couple’s guests who were unable to make the journey over to Ballyscullion Park, this was a great success and is something we can offer to future couples who find themselves in a similar situation.
Pamela looked absolutely magical emerging with her father through the woods towards her Groom. We will never get used to the image of our brides appearing in this way, there is something so ethereal and dream-like about it.

Our final wedding this month at Ballyscullion Park was another small ceremony comprising 55 guests and was held in the Strawberry Garden. The Bride and Groom opted to have a canopy covering the entirety of the beech-hedged Strawberry Garden to ensure that they stayed dry and warm. The canopy created fantastic acoustics as well which was an unexpected bonus! The guests then took part in a socially distanced game of croquet on the Walled Garden lawn before heading into the Marquee for their dinner and speeches. The guests were sat at round tables with a maximum of 6 – 8 on each to make sure that they were well distanced from one another.

If you would like to get married in one of our fabulous outdoor locations with plenty of space for social distancing, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
